Walter Areia, who is also a composer, continues to spread his music as he moves up and down the hillsides and stages playing his curious 3-string double bass in concerts with various artists.

With ‘Trio de Areia’ the maracatu can go hand in hand with the feeling of fado, as well as the freedom of jazz, which in practice can result in an Afro-Brazilian version of Alain Oulman’s ‘Alfama’, side by side with a Colombian ‘currulao’ called ‘Mi Buenaventura’.
